I attempted to give a sense of myself "in the round" by painting multiple views of my face from 9 different camera angles typically used in filmmaking, with each correlating to different emotions. I began the background in a more gestural way than I normally first approach the canvas, and decided to tuck further collage-like details from the reference images I was using into the background of the painting.
